Haiven Property Central are proud to have renewed for a second year our contribution to Orana House as an Impact Agent.
Orana House a Perth based not for profit organisation provides crisis accommodation and have partnered with Real Estate Agents to financially support FDV victims.
As an Impact Agent our contribution assists victims to top up their rent by $50 per week. This top up helps the victims compete for the relatively few rental properties amid Perth’s longest-ever rental crisis.
Women living in refuges or with abusive partners have been unsuccessful in up to 300 applications each. Only 15 per cent of all rentals in Perth are priced at $400 a week or less.
Last year, our contribution helped a warrior woman who had been looking for a safe place to rent for four months. Her violent perpetrator (and ex-husband) is now back in Iraq, where she is originally from. However, she also experienced physical violence while living in shared accommodation.
She has no family here and has been so grateful to be linked with the Orana House program.
She has received ongoing support and made great improvement in her English, which was just one of many barriers for her in the current rental market. Her goal is to start a small business, using her skills in either booking or beauty services. She is also studying English at Tafe. The Case Worker can see a changing in her confidence and hopes to continue working alongside her, to help her reach all of her goals.
Knowing the difference our contribution made to just one warrior women last year Kaylee Ferguson, Partner and Head of Property Management said “It was a simple decision to assist Orana House and the women and children in need of assistance with their rent. Our contribution will help them top up their rent by $50 per week which we know can make all the difference”.
We feel supporting Orana House as an Impact Agent makes a genuine difference to a woman and her children’s future; we hope that our contribution brings a little ray of sunshine.

A shared vision with Orana House
